Bon tardi,
My name is Marith Pleij a third-year real estate student from the Netherlands. For my education I had the opportunity to do my internship at the real estate broker Sunbelt Realty.
Why Bonaire?
Bonaire, an island that is always sunny, is known for its underwater world and the law is similar to Dutch law to buying and selling a house. In other words, the perfect place to do an. I can learn a lot not only on at a professional level but also at a personal level. It was a complete learning experience to travel to the other side of the world and meet new people.
What do I do?
I work in the sales department, where I deal with the brochures, appraisal reports and purchase agreements. I get the chance to learn a lot by going along with appraisal meetings and going to viewings of listings. When I am off, I can be found snorkeling, surfing or at the beach
What did I like so far?
Although Bonaire is 7,905 km from home, it feels like I'm only a short drive away. Almost everyone speaks Dutch, the supermarket looks the same as supermarket as back home. In addition to that is also like my internship, the activities I get to do are interesting and I get to learn a lot about the real estate on Bonaire.
